Starscream’s Beginning

Chapter 4 - Hurt and Lost

Skyjewel woke up to find herself alone on the berth. She looked at the spot that where Jetfire used to lay; he was gone. "Jetfire~" she whispered as covered her face-plates. Tears began to roll down her cheeks. After all this time they've been together was this how they’re going to say goodbye? Fate is really cruel. Skyjewel couldn't feel him through their bond, for he had blocked it. The only bond she could feel was Starscream's. She turned to the other side to see her sparkling. Starscream was playing with his fingers and squeaking with excitement. -The tiny seeker knew nothing about the pain of this world, for he only knew happiness.- Skyjewel sighed as she got up. Once the sparkling’s big optics laid on her, Starscream chirped and clicked. He extended his servos for her to carry him. She granted his wish; bringing him close to her. Skyjewel looked back at the berth she once shared with her mate and sighed as she remembered what Jetfire had told her. "Come, my sparkling. Let me find for you a safe place." She ran out of the building with her arms tight around her sparkling; she didn't know where to go. A loud explosion was heard, and many other explosions followed it. Everyone began to run, some were trying to hide, and some started fighting, protecting their families. Skyjewel hid Starscream's face in her neck and began running faster, trying to find a safe place since their very home wasn’t safe anymore.

As Skyjewel was running, she saw another femme-seeker with a tiny sparkling in her arms. The femme-seeker was barely running because she was wounded. Soldiers caught up with her and took the sparkling from her arms; they mercilessly killed the sparkling, so he would not grow up to become a soldier. The femme’s optics widened, and tears fell down her face. She wasn’t able to get up and fight but only stare at her dead sparkling. The soldiers immediately killed the femme, so she would not bring another sparkling into the world. Skyjewel gasped when the saw her. She began running back to where she came from.

“Get them!” One of the 'bots ordered. “And kill them!”

Skyjewel couldn't transform and fly because Starscream was in her arms, and her cockpit was very tiny for him to sit in. No matter where she ran or what turns she took, they were after her, attempting to take her down. Skyjewel began to grow tired from all the running. She knew that no matter where she will hide, Starscream will be in trouble unless he was safe inside the Place of Vos. "He would live free there!" Skyjewel ran inside the very place where they send crates of Energon to the palace.

With tears in her optics, she placed the tiny seeker in one of the crates and put some cubes of Energon on top of him to hide him; Starscream began to chirp and click with sadness. "Shh, my sparkling. I don't know if I will see you again, but never forget your name, and never forget my voice. If you never see me again, know that I will always love you, my Starscream. I will be inside your spark forever~!" One last time, Skyjewel looked at her sparkling which was slowly drifting to a peaceful recharge. She placed a soft, last kiss on his fore-helm before transforming her servos into guns. She blocked the bond between her sparkling and herself, and charged outside, shooting the enemies to lead them away from the storage.

Skyjewel wasn't much of a fighter, and she knows she won’t last long out there, but she was willing to sacrifice herself to protect her sparkling. A random shot out of nowhere hit her spark. Soon, everything became black for Skyjewel, and her spark was no longer beating. Her, now, lifeless body was laying on the ground with blue Energon pooling around her. One last single tear dropped from her optics to the ground. Her last word was, “Starscream~”

A cold and painful feeling ran through me when I felt not only one bond blocking me, but another one too.
I felt alone. What happened? Why was she crying? And what were these loud sounds that I've never heard before?
I couldn't see anything, for she covered my optics, but I could still hear everything even though she covered audio receptors.
Do I even want to know what had happened?
She, my carrier, told me never to forget my name and never to forget her voice.
I looked into her optics, and promised her I won't; however, I didn't know how to tell her the vow.
Everything I said came out nothing but weird clicking.
She was sad. What is this world? Everyone is sad, she's sad, and now I'm sad.
I'm sad because I couldn't feel her warm bond anymore. I was sad because I'm not in her arms anymore.
I'm sad because I'm alone again.
First, I was alone in the world of lights, and now I'm alone in this world.
A cold chill ran through me when I felt her ... vanish from this world. I don’t know how, but I felt the pain.
It hurts.

Coming alone from one world only to be left alone in the other world, Starscream now knows the meaning of sadness, for he's sad. Skyjewel wanted to protect her sparkling, and the only way he could live free was in the Palace of Vos, so she put Starscream in a crate filled with Energon, and fought soldiers to lead them away from her sparkling's hiding location; thus, she had to give her life in order to protect the seeker.
It's been a while since I've continued writing this story, but never fear, for it is here.

Like I've always said, I always imagine what Starscream's beginning was like, and I wanted to write a little fanfiction for fun. ^_^ Please let me know what you think.
